Greetings Citizens of Love,

There’s an evocative Arabic saying that goes:

“If you want to die, throw yourself into the sea—and you’ll suddenly find yourself fighting to survive. You don’t truly want to die; you want to kill something inside you.”

This speaks to a profound human truth: we don’t want life to end—we want the suffering to stop. We long to let go of what hurts inside us. So much of our inner journey is about liberation.

In the Self-Mastery path, we come to realise that healing means embracing the presence of difficult emotions. It means learning to breathe with them without becoming them. It’s about building the inner fortitude to let feelings move through us. We stop trying to “fix” ourselves and instead begin to truly accompany ourselves.

We say “yes” to what enlivens our soul.

We say “no” to what depletes our spirit.

We let emotions rise, flow, and fade, without giving them permanent residence.

And we show up with integrity, especially when the path feels unclear.

Self-Mastery is radical trust in the flow of life and the Divine intelligence within it.

This August, let yourself feel what wants to shift. The invitation is subtle but deep: stop carrying your emotions like burdens and begin holding them like waves. Some pass gently. Others crash hard. None stay forever. You are being called to soften where you’ve been hardened, to trust where you’ve been gripping, and to allow the tides to carry what you no longer need to hold.

The planetary movements this month echo this invitation.

The full moon in Aquarius on 9 August brings emotional awakenings and clarity from a higher perspective. It reminds us how to stay spiritually connected while still showing up for the human experience.

On 11 August, Mercury stations direct in Leo, helping us move from uncertainty into bold clarity, expression, and heart-led communication. That same day, Ceres begins her retrograde journey through Aries, inviting us to re-examine how we nurture ourselves in the face of independence, change, and self-reliance.

On 23 August, the new moon in Virgo arrives to help us reset with clarity, intention, and sacred simplicity. It’s about systems and it’s about refinement. A return to the essence.

And while the eclipses officially land next month, we are already in their energy. You may feel it as a current beneath the surface or sudden shifts, closures, emotional intensity, or divine redirection. Eclipses bring abrupt but destined change. What feels unexpected is often something your soul has long prepared for. Let this be a time to root into your truth, to welcome change as sacred, and to honour what is ready to leave and what is asking to arrive.
